The aim of this app is to support patients who are undergoing seed brachytherapy as part of their prostate cancer.
With the help of questionnaires, side effect management is standardized and improved.
At any point in the follow-up care, the attending physician has an insight into the side effects of the therapy and can plan further treatment as required.
This should avoid unnecessary visits to the doctor and especially patients with long journeys are relieved.
If the side effects are more severe, it is possible to contact the doctor directly.
In addition, the close-knit follow-up provides a long-term overview of the individual patients recovery path.Another function is the scheduling and organization.
This provides an overview of all planned treatment appointments and enables a connection to the calendar function of the end device.In addition, there is the administration of all doctors treating the patient with all the necessary contact details.
This means that all information is quickly available in every phase of aftercare.
In a later development phase, it will be possible to upload treatment documents to the app and thus have them available every time you visit a doctor.
You can currently only use this app if your attending physician is participating in the project study.
Data security:Data security is one of the most important issues for us.
It is therefore important to us that the data collected is used exclusively in pseudonymised form.
In addition, the storage media (server) are in Germany and the data transport and storage are also encrypted.
This app was developed in cooperation with radiation therapists, urologists and the Institute for eHealth and Management in Health Care (IEMG) at the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences.
